National medical equipment provider US Med-Equip has expanded into Colorado Springs, opening a local branch to bring area hospitals faster access to critical medical gear on demand.
“Hospitals face increasing pressure to provide the best patient care possible while controlling costs. By opening this branch in Colorado Springs, we’re putting critical medical equipment closer to the health care heroes in this region who rely on it to comfort and heal their patients, cutting equipment delivery time and operating costs,” US Med-Equip CEO Greg Salario said in a news release this week.
The branch opened this month at 2504 Zeppelin Road, Suite 100, in southeastern Colorado Springs. It will help Pikes Peak regional hospitals manage fluctuating patient demand and will provide them round-the-clock access to essential equipment including rented ventilators, infusion pumps, specialty beds and others, the company said in the release.
“As more families move to the El Paso County area, we’re supporting local hospitals working hard to keep up with the growing demand for health care,” US Med-Equip spokesman Matthew Stanford said. “They are leaning on our team to help make sure their clinicians have quick access to top medical equipment and can treat the increasing number of patients with the best care possible.”
The Colorado Springs branch allows US Med-Equip to deliver, service and pick up medical equipment more expeditiously for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the Intensive Care Unit or other departments, he said. Additionally, the branch will allow hospitals in Colorado and neighboring states to care for patients without needing to purchase high-cost equipment they use infrequently.
Houston-based US Med-Equip has more than 90 locations across the U.S., including one in Denver, and nine regional support centers across the country. The company serves thousands of hospitals nationwide, takes rental orders 24/7 and aims to deliver its available equipment within two hours, plus drive time.
